My signed copy of Vienna.
Another childhood hero checked off my bucket list: Midge Ure. Who's that you say? I've loved this man since I was 11, first turned on to his band Ultravox via MTV. He's more known for penning and producing the 80's BAND-AID song "Do They Know It's Christmas? (Feed the World)" with Bob Geldof. Ultravox was a great musical influence on me as well as graphical. They had some fantastic artsy, yet nicely designed covers for that time. I used to trace them, redrawing the typography, learning my future craft. So when I heard he was playing a small club in Somerville, MA, I couldn't resist. He was fantastic, great voice, engaging, funny as hell. I balled like a baby after he sung "Vienna", one of my all-time fave songs. He signed some of my vinyl and gave me a great big smile and said "my pleasure". He even let me rub his big bald beautiful Scottish head!
