I had the honor to be interviewed for the Guilford Gazette about my role as a new town auditor, and the much improved Town Report design and layout. I am hoping this work will resonate with the locals, and provide more emphasis on how great Guilford is!

A few days ago, we celebrated a year in the foothills of the Green Mountains of Vermont. The move was stressful, but we do not have any regrets to bring our child to this beautiful, not-so-crowded state. Of course, it required high-speed broadband to connect to my employer, who kept me on as a remote worker. This limited some of our location choices, but the little town of Guilford on the SE border of VT/MA was an ideal fit for all. We sold the antique "money pit" and bought the open-concept modern "shark house" (nicknamed for the metal shark sculpture embedded in the back yard), high on a hill off a mile-long dirt road. It really needed no updates other than new garage doors! An iconic Vermont covered bridge over a dam with a lazy swimming hole is a short dash down the road. Trail heads peak out of forests and farms. We partake in Vermont's offerings of hiking, wildlife, canoeing, fishing, stargazing, and a welcomed slower pace. My husband is now a local cub scout den leader, and I am Guilford's newest Town Auditor. Our son attends Hilltop, a small Montessori school with a breath taking view and beautiful campus, not to mention fabulous teachers and staff. Even with the onset of COVID-19, I witnessed the struggle for many colleagues at the beginning, mostly as we all had to juggle layoffs, furloughs, remote working challenges, and teaching children at home. I was used to having to keep a good routine in order to function, but the homeschooling was a doozy! A good cadence set in a few months, and now I believe that everyone is fairly content with being remote - and possibly staying that way for a long time. But not all of them can say there are bears and moose nearby!
Spent a week with library science folks earning my Visual Resources & Image Management certification at the beautiful University of New Mexico campus. Gorgeous weather and views withstanding, the sessions were overflowing with the science of archiving and digital asset management. It was refreshing to step outside of the marketing box and get a different perspective on the importance of archival history and its preservation. And no trip to Albuquerque would be complete without a Breaking Bad RV tour!
Earned my DAM certification through Adobe for AEM Authoring of Digital Assets at Adobe SUMMIT 2019 in Las Vegas. A week filled with exciting new trends and topics, tons of courses and informative sessions, and witty banter with fellow colleagues and new friends. My favorite talk was Vermont's own Orvis and their painful but necessary digital transformation. #adobesummit2019
Once again I designed the team bicycle jersey for my company's PMC (Pan Mass Challenge) ride. So far they have raised over $135,000 for 2018! Go Team Waters! @panmass @waterscorporation
So brushing off my Honor Thespian title from many decades ago, I got to dive into the Tiny Viking world of "Magertha, Queen of Informatica", and along with my co-hort "Ivar" we filmed short pieces for an upcoming software conference in Copenhagen, Denmark. A fun time indeed, but I definitely need to sharpen my improv skills! I had the pleasure of attending the DAM NYC 2017 Conference - all things Digital Asset Management related! A growing field, and a big interest to me, the discussion topics touched upon digital asset archiving, metadata, taxonomy, and more. Brands such as Hasbro, Hallmark, and Coca-Cola presented their challenges and solutions to their DAM problems. An excellent 2 days of networking and eye-opening subjects!
My art exhibit in town was well attended and 6 paintings were snatched up! I thoroughly enjoyed talking with the high school and college art students. Thanks to all who came out and 10% of proceeds will go to the American Lyme Disease Foundation.
My first major art show in decades! Please visit my painting exhibit at the Flora T. Little Art Gallery at the Bridgewater Public Library, 15 South Street, Bridgewater, MA. It is on the second floor. The meet and greet is scheduled for Saturday, February 4, 12-2pm. Many are available for purchase and 10% of sales will be donated to the American Lyme Disease Foundation. Thanks and I hope to see you there or at least enjoy my work!
